The device that is used to record the temperature is called a thermometer.

Pros and Cons of Each Type of Thermometer

. The thermometer also converts the recorded temperature into a readable form such as Kelvin, Fahrenheit, and Celsius.

Uses of Thermometer:

Temperature tracking thermometer plays an important role in our lives and is used for different purposes such as in the research and meteorological departments, and most importantly in all the health care settings. A thermometer is also used to check the temperature of different food products such as bakery items to know about their shelf life.

Advancement in Thermometers:

The most modern and recently invented thermometer is called the thermoscope. Advancement in technology has produced an ideal thermometer that is primarily produced to avoid contact.  This thermometer is the medical infrared thermometer.

Different Types of Thermometers:

There are different types of thermometers available in the market. Therefore, it is necessary to know about each one of them to decide which suits you the best when you are going to purchase it.

Below is the list of different types of thermometers along with their advantages and several uses:

·Infrared Thermometers:

Infrared thermometers are commonly used in quality control and research departments.  As these are non-contact thermometers, so these are also widely used for measuring and targeting the temperature in HVAC and automobile industries.

These are ideally suitable for measuring temperatures of such areas that are not easily reachable. These are simple and easy to use as they provide an option to select between Celsius and Fahrenheit readings.

·Thermo-hygrometers:

A thermo-hygrometer provides information about the number of water vapors and humidity in confined places like soil and the atmosphere. It is a digitally organized device that is most commonly used in greenhouses, art galleries, museums, humidors, and HVAC system installations.

It can show the results for both the humidity and temperature at the same time and is relatively easy to handle as compared to other types of thermometers.

·RTD Thermometers:

Resistance temperature detector thermometers have multiple features and options that make it distinctly different from other thermometers. The result shown by an RTD thermometer is highly accurate and is therefore used by food industries for different tests.

This temperature tracking thermometer requires careful handling as it is made up of platinum that is quite fragile.

·Dual-laser Thermometers:

As the name indicates, these thermometers possess dual lasers that are present to identify and target the most precise and accurate measurements. These versatile thermometers provide highly effective results and tracking of temperature.

These are used in HVAC and automobile industries as they can detect a highly accurate measurement because of the presence of audible alarms. These are also used in different research institutes and quality control departments.

These also assist in easy identification of targeted areas and are non-contact thermometers with a higher distance to spot ratio as compared to other thermometers.
