As a freelancer, I am accountable for every stage of the work that I complete and ensuring that it all goes smoothly. It is mandatory to have project plans and a goal or task tracker alongside keeping records of receipts and clients. This ensures I am on top of things and accountable for the tasks that make the processes more efficient. These small tasks are continually worked on from start to finish when working on a project.

Any other IT related tasks I am able to accomplish providing I am given the relevant information such as general computing maintenance issues. An example is that I provided guidelines on how to increase performance on a clients' machine and a word document on how they could use their WordPress site.

I currently transcribe for clients and worked for TranscribeMe for 2 months providing English captions for audio clips that were 30 minutes in length.

The 3 main languages I am fluent in creating and building websites for clients and was challenged when I was required to build 2 gaming websites from scratch following the designs I made from Photoshop and implementing it on the server which was then altered a few times as requested from a marketing perspective. These skills are also used in debugging existing various sites.

I primarily work with HTML5, CSS3, jQuery & JavaScript for building template files and for full projects I integrate PHP & mySQL for when I provide WordPress sites for clients. I worked on debugging various problems for a client which can be seen on kiranchahal.co.uk/projects.html

Workin or a travel company I was tasked with providing email promotional newsletters and landing pages, which I was able to accomplish with minimum supervision and on time. An example can be seen in my portfolio at kiranchahal.co.uk/projects.html

Without a design, a website cannot be built and working on my own portfolio I followed the designs I made in Photoshop from start to finish carefully coding from pixel to pixel. In all my projects and websites I have created have been based on following a design provided in Photoshop or Illustrator.

I regularly provide maintenance tasks and theme creation jobs for my clients which are built using the CMS WordPress and are always provided with a user manual alongside with any additional changes to be made after completion. I am aware to always be up-to-date with all new WordPress code releases and to edit PHP or CSS accordingly.

I am able to provide hosting advice and manage sites on the hosting provider as well as keep regular maintenance checks in place to the content and relevance of the website as time goes on. This ensures it is kept fresh and visitors are more engaged with changing content.

All projects are complete following the guidelines on accessibility by w3.org and is a standard that the site can be viewed on all devices and across all browsers including digital TVs. This was the case on all projects and is a mandatory aspect on all websites I create.

All websites should be responsive in 2018 and this is always included as a standard when working on any project for a client. I successfully converted an old table based website to a modernised and fluid responsive site using appropriate menu and grid techniques in jQuery and CSS3 to achieve this.

A user should not lose out on experiencing what your website has to offer due to visiting it from a mobile device and I always keep this a the forefront when it comes to developing sites. It is always a priority to keep both content and the general look and feel of the site similar to the desktop. One example of this is my own portfolio site which if the screen size is reduced, nothing is affected apart from image sizes and some grid layouts.
