As part of my routine translation work I occasionaly take transcritpion jobs, of films and audio recordings.

Generally speaking, my hourly rate applies here (150 ILS per hour).
Specifically, after probing a recording I would be able to give a more precise offer.

Alongside my tranlsation work I regularly take review projets, and have a couple of then running for the last 2 years. Rates depend on the nature of work to be done:
1. Proofreading - checking the target text alone for spelling, punctuation and grammar errors.
2. Review - in addition to that, checking the translation against the source text (verifying the meaning, looking for ommisions, etc.).
3. Editing - all the above, but making more drastic changes, such as deleting superfluous or repetitive junk, adding explanations, etc.

The prices:
1. 37 ILS per 250 words
2. 56 ILS per 250 words
3. 72 ILS per 250 words

I don't remember it in detail, but to me, proofreading means reading the English (in my case) for spelling and grammatical errors; reviewing means proofreading, plus checking the translation against the source text; editing means all of that, plus--if the customer wants--doing more drastic editing, such as deleting superfluous or repetitive junk, adding explanations, etc.
