We are developing a custom navigation app tailored for winter sports enthusiasts. The application focuses on real-time on-slope navigation, custom route planning, and map-based tracking. We are looking for an experienced UI/UX designer to help bring our wireframes and concepts to life with a polished, highly functional interface. Because this app will be used outdoors on the mountain, the design must account for challenging viewing conditions, such as bright sunlight glare and users wearing ski goggles. Scope of Work Map UI & Overlays: Design intuitive, unobtrusive floating controls, search bars, and route-planning interfaces that sit on top of a topographical map. Custom Iconography: Create a cohesive, highly visible icon set tailored for winter sports (e.g., specific lift types, points of interest, a clear directional "puck" for the user, and start/destination markers). User Flow: Design the step-by-step UI for the route planning and navigation experience. Android Standards: Ensure all designs align with modern Android/Material Design guidelines and are ready for developer handoff (via Figma or similar). What We Are Looking For Proven experience designing mobile applications, specifically for Android. A strong portfolio featuring map-based interfaces, navigation apps, or fitness/outdoor utility apps. Experience creating custom vector icons and UI components. A solid understanding of high-contrast design and accessibility for outdoor mobile usage.
