I am Michael Cina and I run ScotPlanet IT Services. I provide IT management, technical support, consultancy and project management services to business's and organisations of all sizes both locally and internationally.

I am a dynamic and energetic IT Operations and Services professional with over 15 years hands on experience within many varied environments and workplaces. I have an impressive track record across public private and corporate sectors. I am passionate about the people and the business’s I work with and always deliver the highest standards of quality and service.

I am a Freelance IT services provider owning and running ScotPlanet IT Services. I provide IT services in the form of technical support, maintenance, consultancy and training to business's throughout Israel. I also offer on site and remote IT operations together with project management delivery and implementation. I design manage and support different technology environments, systems and infrastructures for a variety of clients from small business's to larger organisations.

In a previous role as an IT Manager I managed and led the IT infrastructure’s growth and operational development across two companies. I achieved this through the implementation of new technologies, solutions and automated systems, which greatly improved the infrastructure’s security stability and performance.

As a Project Manager I ran several projects concurrently, often business critical, working with key stake holders and suppliers. This required meticulous planning and testing before final implementation and deployment. I also designed formalized and introduced Disaster Recovery strategies and developed Business Continuity Plans tailored to different business models and DR scenarios.

As IT Technical Lead I managed a UK Government organisation’s VMware/SAN infrastructure. Spread across two sites, this was a very large environment requiring daily maintenance with regards to site to site replication, storage provisioning, monitoring growth and managing snapshots for the development team.

As an IT Infrastructure Support Engineer, I provided Tier 3 escalated support to over 1400 users across the organisation. I also mentored the Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams, providing individual and group instruction, training and advice.

As a Server Manager for an outsourced global IT support provider, I managed more than 250 servers spread across multiple companies and organisations worldwide. After 3 years and due to my knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures and my relationships with clients I was asked to setup and run an additional IT department. Operated on a night shift rota, the department provided the company with the means to extend the managed service model across international time zones.

As an IT Infrastructure Support Engineer I was responsible for all clients throughout Scotland. Each client required customized Systems Administration so I had a very diverse set of tasks and responsibilities. I also provided IT support and consultancy services, both on site and over phone or video conferencing, to satellite and branch offices, both in the UK and overseas.

The company operated a centrally managed help desk system which I often managed when not working on site. I was the first point of contact for all clients, assessing the issues they reported and raising ticket requests. This allowed me to strengthen relationships with clients and suggest operational improvements to the help desk system and call logging process.

In a recent role as a Systems Administrator I was responsible for the company’s IT policies and procedures, IT purchasing and procurement and IT asset management. I have been involved in many different kinds of projects from infrastructure-wide projects affecting all systems to smaller projects affecting only certain systems.
