Interior Decorator, Yacht Decor,Fashion Designer, Entrepreneur, Mother, Philanthropist, Lover of Mustique
I am an arbiter of style, a designer and producer of luxury celebrations from coast to coast. Driven by a passion for life and all things beautiful, my work is characterized by a unique artistry and flair, influenced by my life as an artist, world traveler, and creative pioneer in the design world.
Given my Caribbean background, I have always been drawn to vibrant color. My love of color influences and breathes life into my work.Through my decorating, I transform spaces, events, and interiors into vibrant, exciting, living experiences.
Most recently, I redesigned the Venezuelan ambassador’s residence in my native Trinidad and Tobago. An innovative entrepreneur and fashion enthusiast, I also recently completed a collection of luxury resort wear inspired by my travels.
My work has been featured in LA Magazine, Hampton Cottages and Gardens, East Hampton Star, Japanese Shop magazine, Yacht International magazine, "The Best Shop in New York" edition of New York Magazine, and French Elle Home magazine.
In 1995 I opened my first floral boutique Stems at California Plaza and a second shop in Los Angeles. Two years later I opened another Stems in New York, along with Stems in The Hamptons. During this time I also designed and installed the floral décor for the Dalai Lama’s visit to New York.
In 2006 I was afforded the opportunity to do the floral arrangements for the launch of Oprah’s LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE tour in NY.
For my new collection of luxury kaftans and resort wear, I drew on my life in the Hamptons and Trinidad and Tobago, and many visits to my favorite island, Mustique, capturing the sophistication of island living and lifestyle, which I named Gasparee, for the tiny island in Trinidad and Tobago where I visited as a child.
I continue to expand my reach internationally working with and for designers from all over the world. I look forward to this new and exciting chapter as I expand my luxury brand Gasparee by Gillian Harding.
