The goal of this project is to foster communal living through affordable housing amongst the end users using Eco-friendly building materials (shipping containers, bamboo and the likes) while also ensuring privacy

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN WITH CONTAINER

DESIGN THOIGHT : TO DESIGN SPACED ZONED TO  CONSTRUCTIVELY CREATE HARMONY IN THE SPATIAL RELATIONSHIP AS WELL AS MAXIMIZE TRAVEL TIME WITHIN RELATED SPACES

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY : “FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION.” THE FUNCTIONALITY OF EACH INTERNAL SPACE WAS PRIORITY BEFORE THE FORM WAS PUT INTO CONSIDERATION

CONCEPT DESIGN : HAVING A PROGRESSIE DESIGN THAT ENHANCES A CHANGE IN DYNAMICS OF THE GIVEN PROJECT.

MATERIALS

One of the most popular methods of cladding is through the use of timber softwoods, such as western red cedar. This type of wood has a natural resistance to decay and moisture. It can be readily stained or painted and altered to create a range of profiles.

A very good forms of cladding is uPVC with white being the most affordable option.

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on the planet. With approximately 1,400 species, it is highly versatile and rapidly  renewable .

Expanded foam is manufactured offsite into large boards and panels that are pre-sized for typical ceiling heights. it is self-supporting.  Holes for things like doors and windows are made on site by cutting. It is DIY-friendly and can be attached to studs or even glued right to the container. Expanded foam insulation in most cases has the highest R-value per inch of all insulating materials .

CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN

Container flooring is made up of 2 basic parts – steel cross-member supporting the floor and a wood floor. The combo makes for a super strong and very watertight floor to your container

This typology is based on the progressive flexible design and structural reinforcement. it allows for expandability and communalism in which each module is structurally independent, It can be built independently, or together as a unit

se of water sustainable strategies roof cistern for water harvesting purposes, for home usage Easy to build, transport Material and resources availability, recyclability Green architecture with the readily available recyclable materials e.g pet bottles and tyres for planters Power and Solar panels for power harvesting purposes

Its easy to build and can be replicable in various community. Its construction phases are adapted to different uses and target users. The unstructured play home is an energy efficient and sustainable community with the aim of reducing cost of living of members Energy and waste disposal strategies considerations are introduced to design this system that can be easily plugged and un-plugged depending on relocation
