WE ARE GOOD. SO NO GOOD

'ANACHNU TOVOT AZ BELI TOVOT'

This is the slogen of 'PANIM HADASHOT' association- Chairwoman, Heli Fridman-, which is the The body lead, back and forward, of the Launch of the International Gender Guard to promote Women's Leadership and Social Equality, which took place on July 17, 2018, at Knesset Israel, Jerusalem. this event took place including thanks to the collaboration of the association with Deputy Minister and member of the knesset, Dr. Michael Oren, who was the host of the conference.

There was a lot to hear and learn at this unique distinguish event, that included two very interesting panels with ambassadors from Different Countries. The panel participants gave their own point of view on the need for equal treatment for both men and women. they talked with the panel attenuator, The Journalist and Communications liaison- Linoy Bar Gefen, about the differences between their country compared to Israel. Occasionally it was amusing, sometimes it angers. Although Israel has progressed in relation to the equal treatment for both men and women, there is still way ahead.

For example, sweden Ambassador, Magnus Hellegen, said that in Sweden there is Maternity leave for women and men together, and it already became a norm. he stressed that every birth of each of his children, he was on maternity leave for six months. and when Linoy Bar Gefen noted that ,usually, if woman in Israel go back to work after one month of maternity leave, people will say that she is a 'bad Mom', Sweden ambassador Magnus replied, that in Sweeden if a father drives the same way, he will also be called- 'bad Dad'.

A fascinating perspective was Ghana ambassador, Hanna Amo, who point out that to be woman ambassador is, and always will be, a great challenge. For a woman, to be an ambassador is in fact the decision of choosing between your profession and your family, so she said. she also added that the society still can't get a woman ambassador. for example, at many official events in which she participated with her husband, there always been respected or else, approached her and asked: 'Are you the ambassador wife?'

Linoy asked Hanna Amo if she feels she paid a price for being ambassador.

The role of ambassador is traveling around from country to country and due to this, absence of a long time from home. this fact affects the marriage, no matter how fair the division of roles between husband and wife.

Although this is changing, It's always come back to the woman, said ambassador Hanna Amo, because in the end of the day, women are always in charge.
