Re: An Invitation to our Educational Center in Sakhnin

Dear Sir, or Madam,

Education is the key to understanding and bringing about change to society. Collaboration, cooperation, tolerance, acceptance, and many more values are taught in our wonderful program “From Violence to Compassion.” Jewish children meet Arab children, and together, they learn about compassion towards animals. The Jewish and Arab children have a wonderful opportunity to meet each other, develop relationships, and learn to accept each other. At the same time, the children learn about dogs and cats’ needs, importance of compassion towards the weak, tolerance, and some even touch the animals for the first time in their lives in the animal shelter that we built in Sakhnin. The social-educational activities promote peace between Jewish and Arabs, as well as compassion towards helpless animals.

“Let the Animals Live” is the largest animal welfare organization in Israel, founded in 1986 by Mrs. Eti Altman. In our education program “From Violence to Compassion”, we teach the Jewish and Arab children how dogs and cats need to be taken care of, we tell the children different real stories about animals that we found abandoned, injured and how we saved their lives, we teach about the importance of spaying and neutering animals, we teach about our dog shelter and so much more. We teach many different age groups of children, from kinder-garden to high school.

We would like to invite the president of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, to our educational center in Sakhnin, located in the Galilee. We will be honored to show Mr. Obama our wonderful, educational center, which, we believe, also promotes peace in the Middle East.
