How to save time and avoid mistakes between footprints and orCAD Symbols and purchased parts?

The way to save time and avoid mistakes during board design process.

How to save time and avoid mistakes between footprints and orCAD Symbols and purchased parts?

did it ever happened to you that after PCB production in assebly process you have find out that the purchased part is different then the footprint?
Isn't it annoying to place part parameters in orCAD part by part manualy?

So, to all Hardaware/Board Design engineers and consultant I would like to get you know with a tool/System that I use with - a system that can help prevent mistakes and reduce the time of placing parameters manualy.
The Tool that I use with Is a PLM (Product Life Cycle) software name Aras Innovator.
A free powerfull tool that can manage and store all the parts parameteres manage versions and much much more.

In the orCAD side there is need to use orCAD CIS version (CIS stands for Component Information System)
CIS version lets orCAD connect to external database and to import the information of each selected part.

Aras Innovator is free softaware but yet very powerfull tool that holds and manage SQL Database.

Aras Innovator hold a lot of features includes version control, parts release and much much more.

The problem that as hardware engineers there is need to know few things to install and configure the whole system and conect it to orCAD CIS:
There is need to know how to install and configure MSSQL.
How to write query command.
Need to know little bit SW.
How to connect orCAD CIS to the Database.

It is very complicated with a lot of trial and wrong.

But eventually when it is working as it should be the design will be faster and much less risky from the mistake site.

There is nice post theat wrote it a "hardwrae guy" how to connect ARAS innovator to orCAD:

Good luck
